The Bottom Line The Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 makes a few notable improvements on its predecessor, but a new breed of cheaper mini-laptops are on the horizon, making this ideal only for heavy tablet users, who may prefer a full-size tablet. With the LifeBook T1010, Fujitsu adds tablet functionality to an otherwise typical 13.3-inch laptop. It's a good choice for students and executives who prefer to take handwritten notes on the run. We're impressed with the engineering behind Axiotron's rebuilt, tabletized MacBook, but the target audience is likely very small, especially since Windows-based convertible tablets do so much more. The lightweight Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet now runs Windows Vista--and remains one of the best convertible tablets on the market. But for its disappointing battery life, the Toshiba Portege M700 is an excellent hybrid of power laptop and well-designed tablet.
